Track the materials behind each candle
Keep wax, fragrance, wicks, jars and packaging as separate material records. Enter your own purchase quantities and prices, and use compatible units when building a recipe. Record stock movements separately: buying-price information is not proof that a delivery arrived.
Use inventory and purchasing records to review what you have, what an order needs and what must be replenished. Physical counts and correct entries remain necessary; the app does not inspect your shelves.
A batch example that connects cost and stock
Suppose a planned batch consumes 1,200 g of wax and produces 12 usable candles. The entered wax consumption averages 100 g per finished candle. If only 10 candles are usable, the same consumption averages 120 g per usable candle. These are invented quantities, not a candle formulation or supplier recommendation.
If the included batch costs total $54, the unit cost is $4.50 at 12 usable candles and $5.40 at 10. A wholesale quote must also account for any additional setup, delivery, discounts and fees. Do not deduct stock twice by recording the same consumption in two places.
Go from a recipe to a customer order
Save a product, prepare a quote and review the quantities and terms before issuing it. Customer-facing output keeps internal costing separate from selling prices. Record production output and actual costs so you can compare them with the estimate.
