Handmade Product Costing Software with Explained Assumptions
Move beyond a selling-price guess. SellerToolkit keeps the quantities, costs and usable output behind an estimate visible, then carries reviewed products into customer quotes.

Separate purchase cost, batch cost and unit cost
A $25 pack containing 100 units has a purchase unit cost of $0.25. A recipe consuming 12 units includes $3 from that material. The cost per finished item also depends on the batch yield and the other costs you include.
Add labour, packaging and allocated overhead using a consistent basis. A result described as included cost is only as complete as your entries; it is not a guarantee of business profit.
Margin and markup answer different questions
With $8 included unit cost, a 50% markup gives a $12 selling price. The included margin is then ($12 − $8) / $12 = 33.33%. A 50% target margin instead needs $8 / (1 − 0.50) = $16 before additional fees or taxes.
A quote-level discount, a fixed payment charge or shipping paid by the maker changes the outcome. Review the final order assumptions rather than treating a unit-price target as a promise.
Keep estimates and issued terms distinct
Save material-based products, prepare customer quotes and record order activity. An issued quote preserves its reviewed assumptions. Record actual production costs and usable output separately so later supplier changes do not erase what you originally agreed.
Use stock and purchasing records alongside costing when you need operational quantities. Costing purchase quantities do not automatically establish opening inventory.
Which makers is this for?
Candles and soap have dedicated starting examples. Other material-based handmade goods can use the workspace when their purchase units, recipes and usable outputs fit its supported calculations. Test a representative product before relying on it for a different production process.
Choose the workspace currency and locale deliberately. Recorded exchange-rate snapshots are entered and sourced by you; they are not a live currency feed or automatic conversion of your whole business.
